Halloween mission · Case 01

Halloween at 20:13

It was meant to be an ordinary night in the archive. Then the doors locked, and a message from Nora appeared on the screen. Nora left the company eleven months ago.

Your task

Find out who triggered the archive change at 20:13, how Nora’s inactive account sent the invitation, what happened in Room 4C and why the system chose exactly these six people.

The mission

What happened on Halloween night?

Maya, Rowan, Amara, Leo, Samira and Jamie are sorting old records when the building goes into incident lock. The system will not open the doors until they correct the archive. On the table: an impossible invitation, a reply sent too early and two floor plans that disagree about one room.

You take the roles of six investigators and follow their different lines of inquiry. Private leads appear only near the finale; together they eliminate the remaining alternatives. The story ends with one verdict from the whole crew.

How the game works

The case unfolds on your table.

There is no host and no required app. One person prepares the pages without reading the solution; after that, everyone investigates. Three passcode-gated comic scenes can be opened online or from the included offline HTML.

  1. 01

    Print and prepare the case.

Print pages 1-19 single-sided. Cut five marked sheets, prepare piles A (10-11), B (12-13) and C (14-15), and keep pages 16-19 face down.

  2. 02

Choose heroes and read the opening.

Give everyone a spoiler-free hero card, open page 7 and read it aloud. Each card carries one question that must enter the investigation.

  3. 03

    Pass three checkpoints.

Open A, B and C only after the group answers each checkpoint. At three marked moments, scan a QR or open the offline HTML and use the printed passcode to reveal a comic scene.

  4. 04

Reveal the leads and write a verdict.

After checkpoint C, read all six private leads. Complete the working timeline, answer four questions and decide what the chosen person’s action meant before opening the 7-page solution file.

Scene Unlocks · online or offline

The evidence stays on paper. The story can break out of it.

At three planned moments, the case file gives you a QR code and a passcode. Scan it to open a full-screen comic scene - never a required answer checker.

  1. 01

    Spoiler-safe by design

A QR link only highlights the right locked card. Nothing opens until the group enters the printed passcode.

  2. 02

    No connection required

Every package also contains one self-contained HTML file with the same scenes, images and gates. Open it in any browser, even offline.

  3. 03

    The printed game remains complete

All evidence needed to solve the case and the full written solution stay in the PDFs. Scene Unlocks add atmosphere, dialogue and a post-verdict payoff.

The six heroes investigate printed case pages spread across an archive table on Halloween night.

The files are open. Everyone has found a different clue.
