Why bring a case to the table?

A ready-made reason to get everyone together.

You do not have to invent the plan for the evening. Choose a story, print the files and give your group a mystery worth talking about.

  1. 01

The evening has a story from the start.

Instead of asking what to do, you open the first file and step into the same mystery together.

  2. 02

Nobody has to sit outside the game.

There is no host. Everyone plays a character, examines the evidence and has a voice in the final accusation.

  3. 03

The conversation happens around the table.

Compare clues, challenge each other’s ideas and build one version of events. No app is needed during play.

  4. 04

You reach the ending in one meeting.

Each case is a complete 60-75 minute story, so the group gets both the investigation and its answer that evening.

02 · Choose your hero

Who will you be in this story?

The same crew returns in every case. Choose the person whose way of investigating suits you best - or draw the character cards at random. These bars help you choose a hero. They describe how each person usually investigates; they do not add bonuses or change the difficulty.

03 · From case file to game night

Choose it. Print it. Meet up. Solve it.

You are buying a digital game file, not a physical box. Download the open case and begin the evening in four simple steps.

  1. 01

    Choose a story.

Open the case that fits the evening you want to spend together. Every case is a complete story.

  2. 02

    Buy, download and print.

After purchase, download the digital files and print the selected A4 or US Letter version.

  3. 03

    Meet up with friends.

Gather 2-6 people, choose your heroes and place the opening documents on the table.

  4. 04

    Run the investigation.

Read the evidence, connect the clues and agree on one team verdict before opening the solution.

Scene Unlocks · online or offline

The evidence stays on paper. The story can break out of it.

At three planned moments, the case file gives you a QR code and a passcode. Scan it to open a full-screen comic scene - never a required answer checker.

  1. 01

    Spoiler-safe by design

A QR link only highlights the right locked card. Nothing opens until the group enters the printed passcode.

  2. 02

    No connection required

Every package also contains one self-contained HTML file with the same scenes, images and gates. Open it in any browser, even offline.

  3. 03

    The printed game remains complete

All evidence needed to solve the case and the full written solution stay in the PDFs. Scene Unlocks add atmosphere, dialogue and a post-verdict payoff.

04 · Before your friends arrive

What do you need besides a printer?

No costumes, props or preparation from a host. For Case 01, set aside these five things.

  1. 01

    Printer and paper

Print pages 1-19 single-sided in A4 or US Letter. The 25-page player file also includes six optional, spoiler-free hero stories. Hints and solution are a separate 7-page PDF.

  2. 02

    Scissors

Cut the six hero cards, response slips and private leads on five clearly marked sheets. No craft knife is needed.

  3. 03

    Pens and table space

Use the printouts as working documents: write on them, circle details and move the evidence around.

  4. 04

2-6 people and about 60-75 minutes

Everyone plays. Nobody needs to know the story or prepare a script before the meeting. For a first setup, allow about 20 minutes to print, cut five sheets and arrange three piles.

  5. 05

Three evidence piles and Scene Unlocks

Leave pages 7-9 face up. Prepare piles A (10-11), B (12-13) and C (14-15). Keep pages 16-19 face down. The QR codes open optional comic scenes; without a connection, use the included one-file HTML.

05 · What happens at the table

One crew. One investigation. One final answer.

Yes, you read - but not a long instruction manual. You read messages, plans, notes and records aloud, then use them to decide what happened.

  1. 01

    Read the opening together

The first message introduces the situation. From that moment, everyone investigates and there is no host.

  2. 02

    Choose investigation roles

All six spoiler-free hero cards stay in play. In a smaller group, one person holds more than one hero and later reads each matching private lead.

  3. 03

Open one pile at a time

Work on the visible evidence. Open the next pile only after the group agrees on the checkpoint answer.

  4. 04

    Mark what matters

Write on the copies, compare times, connect people and move documents next to each other.

  5. 05

    Take a hint if needed

Three hint levels let you reveal a small push first and a clearer answer only if you still need it.

  6. 06

Reveal private leads after pile C

No single lead gives away the solution. Read all six together, eliminate the remaining alternatives and write one team verdict.
